Prof. Delali Kwasi Dake

Associate Professor of Computing and Information Technology and the Head of the Department of ICT Education, University of Education, Winneba (UEW)

Prof. Delali Kwasi Dake is an Associate Professor of Computing and Information Technology and the Head of the Department of ICT Education at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Ghana. Formerly a Computer Science Lecturer at Lancaster University, he attained the rank of Associate Professor in January 2024 at the age of 36, making him one of the youngest academics in Ghana to reach the professorial status. Prof. Dake earned his PhD in Computer Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Jobweb Africa, a leading job aggregation platform operating across eight African countries. As Head of Department, Prof. Dake has driven collaborations to bridge digital innovation among university students. He has partnered with AI and blockchain companies—including Google, AyaHA, ICP Ghana, and SUI Ghana—to deliver intensive summits at UEW, connecting students with emerging technologies and industry expertise. He was also part of the UEW delegation to The Africa Premier AI Conference 2025 (APAIC 2025) in Mombasa, Kenya, underscoring the university’s commitment to continental AI leadership. Prof. Dake plays a key role in academic quality assurance and higher education development. He serves as an External Examiner and Promotion Assessor for KNUST—regularly evaluating PhD theses in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, and ICT Education—as well as BlueCrest University College and Heritage Christian University. Additionally, he is an Assessor for the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), contributing to the evaluation and accreditation of ICT programmes across Ghana’s tertiary sector. He is a peer reviewer for numerous high-impact journals, including Scientific Reports, Signal, Image and Video Processing, Education and Information Technologies, Cluster Computing, Discover Computing, BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making, Humanities and Social Sciences Communications, PeerJ Computer Science, Education Sciences, Journal of Network and Systems Management, and Frontiers of Digital Education. His reviews support research quality and innovation globally. Prof. Dake has delivered keynote presentations and invited talks at leading Artificial Intelligence and computing events, including the 2nd Global Summit on AI (USA, 2024), the Ghana Data Science Summit (IndabaX Ghana, KNUST), and the 6th Biennial National Conference on AI for Educational Development (FCT College of Education, Abuja). He has also led AI-focused seminars at UEW, inspiring faculty and students on AI ethics and educational data mining. As a member of ACM’s Working Group 5 on Ethical and Societal Impacts of Generative AI in Higher Computing Education, Prof. Dake is currently collaborating with international scholars to develop guidelines and a comprehensive landscape analysis that incorporate Global South perspectives, with findings scheduled for presentation in Botswana in late October 2025. His research interests span Educational Data Mining, Artificial Intelligence and Reinforcement Learning, Intelligent Systems, Software-Defined Networks, and Blockchain Applications.
