Ambassador Harold Adlai Agyeman

Ghana’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations

Ambassador Harold Adlai Agyeman is Ghana’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations. His diplomatic career spans three decades and has included missions to: (a) the United Nations in New York; (b) the High Commission of Ghana in India; and (c) the Embassy of Ghana to Benin. In both New Delhi and Cotonou, he served as Deputy Chief of Mission and had extended stints as Acting High Commissioner and Chargé d’Affaires respectively. Ambassador Agyeman is a Vice-President of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly and was recently the Chair of the third session of the Preparatory Committee for the 2026 Review Conference on the Treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons (NPT). He also served as Ghana’s representative to the United Nations Security Council between 2022 and 2023 in addition to roles as the Chair of the 2127 Committee on the Central African Republic, the 1591 Committee on the Sudan and the Security Council Working Group on Peacekeeping. Ambassador Agyeman continues to serve as the Chair of the Advisory Committee on the United Nations Programme for the Teaching, Study, Dissemination and Wider Appreciation of International Law and is a previous facilitator of negotiations in the Legal as well as Administrative and Budgetary Committees of the United Nations General Assembly. In addition, he served as the Vice Chair of the 46th session of the Committee on Programme Coordination. Ambassador Agyeman is credited with the success of the negotiations that led to the Security Council’s adoption of the historic resolution 2719 (2023). Prior to his present diplomatic assignment, Ambassador Agyeman was the Director of Administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration between 2019 – 2021 and previously served as the Director of the African and Regional Integration Bureau of the Ministry. He has had and continues to be engaged with senior level engagements on critical continental and regional concerns. Ambassador Agyeman holds an advanced degree in international affairs, obtained from the Legon Centre for International Affairs of the University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with Philosophy from the University of Ghana. He has participated in several short-term training courses in areas such as diplomacy, international peace and security, monitoring and evaluation, arbitration, regional trade facilitation, negotiation of financial transactions, and capital market development and regulation. Ambassador Agyeman is the author of a number of articles, as well as the book, “Diplomatic Protocol: A Guide for Ghana Diplomats and Senior Government Officials”. He has three sons and enjoys to read, walk and play golf in his leisure periods.

He is the former Founder & CIO of Athena Assets, a multi-strategy digital assets hedge fund and former COO of Athena Capital Partners, an AIFM with a 500m USD capacity. Athena specialised in providing various quantitative and algorithmic investment strategies within the digital asset market to sophisticated investors via our robust investment vehicle. Adam also ran the research firm, Athena Intelligence, a research firm at the forefront of the intersection between cryptocurrency and traditional financial markets. He now consults institutional businesses on FX and digital asset exposure for an FCA regulated London based broker dealer, Fiscal FX.

Robert Dzato

CEO, Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana

Robert Dzato is the Chief Executive of Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana. Robert is a Chartered Banker, a Chartered Accountant and a Strategy Consultant with over 20 years work experience across industries and multi-cultural environments. He has a deep understanding of the financial services industry having worked as a banker and management consultant in Ghana, Nigeria, England, Scotland and other West African countries. Robert has good market relationships with Central Banks, policy makers, commercial banks and insurers. Robert joined the Institute from KPMG where he was the Lead, Financial Services Strategy, Operations & Customer Solutions in Management Consulting. Before joining KPMG, he was an Associate Director in the HNI clients’ segment at Standard Chartered Bank, prior to which he was Head of Consumer Banking Academy and Consumer Banking Management Committee Member at Standard Chartered Bank, Ghana. Robert started his banking career in the UK. He worked with Lloyds Banking Group as a Senior Accountant at Group Finance (Capital and Regulatory Reporting), Bank of Scotland as a Commercial Bank Manager, and Halifax as a Banking Advisor. Robert is a thought leader and facilitator in macroeconomics, strategy and ethics. He has facilitated many board and management meetings of organisations in and outside Ghana. He has been instrumental in the design and issue of the maiden and 2nd editions of “The GH Bankers’ Voice” Magazine, a Ghana Association of Banks thought leadership for the banking industry. He also assisted the Bank of Ghana in the financial sector reform in Ghana. Robert holds a Certificate in Sustainable Finance from the University of Oxford, UK, an MSc in International Consultancy and Accounting from the University of Reading, UK, a Bachelor of Management Studies from University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He is a member of the Chartered Banker Institute in Scotland and Chartered Institute of Bankers,Ghana as well as Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. Robert is passionate about financial literacy, ethics and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Samuel Kobina Annim

Chairperson of the Board and Executive Committee of PARIS21

Samuel Kobina Annim is an academic with experience in policy design assessment and evaluation. He holds a professorship in Economics at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. His research expertise spans diverse micro-development issues including microfinance, poverty and health with a geographical focus on sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. As part of his career path, he committed to strengthening his engagement with policymakers by serving as the Government Statistician of the Republic of Ghana for a six-year period. His work is marked by extensive research publications and a commitment to data-driven policy initiatives and outcomes. Samuel contributes to the international data and statistics community as a member of United Nations expert groups and in his current capacity as the Chairperson of the Board and Executive Committee of PARIS21.

Derrydean Dadzie

Heritors Labs

Derrydean Dadzie is a powerhouse in African technology, renowned for his expertise in Fintech, e-commerce, policy, Digital Transformation, and Research Commercialisation. With over 15 years of experience, he co-founded DreamOval right out of university, helping it expand into a multinational company. As CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Technology, he shaped robust tech markets and policy frameworks that fueled Ghana’s tech growth. Derrydean is also the visionary behind the Africa Research and Innovation Commercialisation Summit (ARICS), driving research from labs to markets across Africa. He currently leads Heritors Labs, focused on advancing Science, Technology, Innovation, and Research (STIR) in Africa. Through his leadership, Derrydean is shaping the continent’s future by positioning STIR Commercialisation at the heart of its economic transformation.

Professor Ishmael Mensah

Professor of Tourism and Hospitality Management, University of Cape Coast

Prof. Ishmael Mensah is a Professor of Tourism and Hospitality Management and the Head of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, University of Cape Coast. He is a former Ghana Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast. He holds a PhD (Tourism) degree from the University of Cape Coast. He also received Post-graduate Certificates in Hospitality Administration as well as Event Planning & Tradeshow Management from Georgia State University. Professor Mensah is a member of some professional associations including the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (ICHRIE), Skal International and the International Society for Development and Sustainability (ISDS). Prof. Mensah is a member, of the EuroCHRIE 2022 Board of Reviewers, Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (CHRIE); member, of the United Nations Group of Experts of the Regular Process for Global Reporting and Assessment of the State of the Marine Environment including Socio-economic aspects; and member of Ghana Tertiary Education Council (GTEC) Accreditation Panel for Tourism and Hospitality programmes. He has published widely in high-ranking academic journals in the areas of environmental management, destination marketing, service quality, special events management, technological applications in tourism and hospitality and community-based tourism development. He has over 60 publications. His editorial experience includes serving on the editorial boards of the Oguaa Journal of Social Sciences and Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Education, as well as serving as Associate Editor of Frontiers of Psychology. He also co-edited the Proceedings of the China-Africa Urban Development Forum. He is the founding Editor-In-Chief of the African Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management. He has been ranked among the top 10 scientists in the field of Tourism and Hospitality in Africa by AD Scientific Index in 2023. Prof. Mensah is very passionate about the delivery of quality service and has consulted for a number of public and private organizations including Ghana Dock Labour Co. Ltd., Electricity Company of Ghana, Ghana Tourism Authority, Centre for National Culture and Ghana Museums and Monuments Board on the topic. He has also served on a number of national and local committees including the Central Region Tourism Awards Committee. He also serves as External Examiner for a number of universities including Koforidua Technical University, Ho Technical University, University of Energy and Natural Resources, University of Kwazulu-Natal, Durban University of Technology, Universiti Teknologi MARA and Hunan City University. He was also a Visiting Lecturer in the Masters in Tourism Programme at the University of Girona in Spain and University of Oradea in Romania. He has delivered keynote presentations, speeches, seminars, webinars and workshops at both academic and professional conferences in a number of institutions including University of Papua New Guinea, Amity University, Kolkata, Universiti Teknologi MARA, and University of Santo Tomas - Legazpi.
